Flanagan’s Irish Pub

Last updated: 13 October 2026

1. About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Flanagan’s Irish Pub uses cookies and similar technologies on https://www.flanagansedinburgh.com.

The website is operated by New Town Bar Ventures Ltd, registered in Scotland under company number SC882458.

Registered office: 30/5 Hardengreen Industrial Estate, Eskbank, EH22 3NX.

Contact: info@flanagansedinburgh.com.

Please read this alongside our Privacy Policy, available through the website footer, which explains how we use personal information and your rights.

This policy covers our Squarespace website, Squarespace Analytics, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, MailerLite newsletter forms and embedded Instagram and TikTok content. Optional analytics, advertising and other non-essential tracking operate only with your consent.

2. What cookies and similar technologies do

Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit a website. They can help a website work, remember choices and understand how visitors use it.

Similar technologies include local storage, tracking pixels and tags that store or access information on your device. This policy covers those technologies as well as cookies.

Session cookies normally expire when your browser session ends. Persistent cookies remain for a specified period unless deleted sooner. Local storage can remain until removed by the website or cleared through your browser.

Information collected can include online identifiers, IP addresses, browser and device details, pages visited, referral sources and actions taken on the website. Information linked to an identifiable person is personal information even if it does not include their name.

3. How we use cookies

Necessary cookies

These support functions such as security and remembering your cookie choices. Technologies strictly necessary to provide a service you request do not require consent under the applicable UK rules. They appear as “Always on” in our cookie controls.

Performance and analytics

We use Squarespace Analytics and Google Analytics to understand visitor numbers, traffic sources and how people use the website. We use the findings to improve the site and its content.

We ask for your consent before enabling optional analytics cookies and similar tracking. You can decline them and continue using the main website.

Advertising

We use Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel and Google Ads tracking to measure advertising performance and understand actions taken after an advert, such as visiting a page or completing a sign-up.

Where enabled with your consent, these tools may send online identifiers, device information, page visits and event information to Google, Meta or TikTok. These providers may combine it with information they already hold, including account activity, for measurement and advertising personalisation under their own privacy terms.

We do not upload our customer email list to these platforms and do not use individual newsletter click histories to retarget subscribers. This does not mean that website pixel data is anonymous or cannot be associated with a platform account.

Advertising cookies and related optional tracking require your consent. Declining them does not prevent access to the main website or stop all adverts appearing elsewhere.

Newsletter forms and social content

Our newsletter uses an embedded MailerLite form. The form may use cookies or local storage to support its operation, remember form interactions or record submissions, depending on its configuration. We assess these technologies by their actual purpose; a third-party form is not automatically exempt from consent requirements.

Our website includes embedded Instagram and TikTok content. These services may receive information about your device and visit, even if you do not interact with the content. We obtain consent before loading embedded content that involves non-essential tracking. You may need to allow the relevant category to display the content.

Links that simply take you to another website are different from embedded content. The other website’s cookie information applies when you visit it.

4. Cookie names and durations

The following cookies are associated with the services we use. Which cookies are set during a visit depends on your consent, the features you use, the provider settings and your browser. The durations shown are the providers’ documented default lifetimes, rather than guarantees that a cookie remains for that whole period.

Provider and category | Cookie or identifier | Purpose | Published duration

Squarespace, necessary | ss_performancecookiesAllowed | Remembers your analytics-cookie choice | 30 days

Squarespace, necessary | ss_marketingcookiesAllowed | Remembers your advertising-cookie choice | 30 days

Squarespace, necessary where used | Crumb | Helps protect against forged website requests | Browser session

Squarespace, analytics | ss_cid, ss_cpvisit, ss_cvr | Recognises visitors and their visits | 2 years

Squarespace, analytics | ss_cvisit, ss_cvt | Helps measure visits and sessions | 30 minutes

Google Analytics, analytics | ga, ga_<container-id> | Distinguishes visitors and maintains session information | 2 years by default

Google Ads, advertising | gcl* | Measures actions following advert clicks | 90 days

Google advertising, where enabled | IDE, id | Supports advertising and related preferences | 13 months in the UK

Meta, advertising | _fbp | Supports advertising measurement and delivery | 3 months

TikTok, advertising | _ttp, ttclid, ttcsid identifiers | Supports advertising measurement and personalisation | 13 months from last use

The asterisk and bracketed text indicate a family of names or a site-specific identifier. Some persistent cookies are renewed through subsequent use. Browser controls may shorten their lifetime.

MailerLite’s form technologies vary by form type and installation. Its published documentation lists identifiers including mailerlite:webform:shown, mailerlite:session_id and mailerlite:forms:submitted:[ID]. These support form display, sessions and submission records. Their storage method and lifetime depend on the form configuration. Local-storage entries without a set expiry can remain until the service removes them or you clear them in your browser. Non-essential form storage and tracking require consent.

5. Managing your choices

Select Cookie Preferences in the website footer to open the controls. You can leave Performance and Analytics and Advertising switched off, or enable the categories you choose, then select Save Preferences.

You can return to these controls to change or withdraw consent. Continuing to browse or closing the panel does not itself mean you consent. Necessary cookies remain available for their essential purposes.

Your choices normally apply to the browser and device you use. If you change device, use another browser or clear stored preferences, you may need to choose again.

You can also use your browser settings to inspect, block or delete cookies and other stored website data. Blocking necessary cookies may affect website functions.

Withdrawing consent stops future use of the relevant optional technologies through our site. You can use browser settings to remove cookies already stored. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful or automatically delete information previously received by providers.

A website cookie preference is separate from subscribing to or unsubscribing from our newsletter.

6. Newsletter click reporting

We do not use email tracking pixels to record newsletter opens. MailerLite records clicks on newsletter links, which may be linked to a subscriber’s email address.

We use overall campaign reports to improve our newsletters, rather than examining individual click histories or targeting individual subscribers based on their clicks. Our Privacy Policy explains this processing and your rights.

Where a newsletter tracking technique requires consent under the UK rules on storing or accessing information on a device, we obtain that consent before using it. Accepting website cookies does not automatically give consent to separate email tracking. You can contact us about tracking preferences and unsubscribe through any newsletter.

7. Changes and contact

We will review this policy when we add or change services. Where an addition changes the purposes or scope of tracking, we will update the information and seek fresh consent where needed. Your existing consent does not automatically cover new purposes or materially different tracking.

If you have a question about cookies or your choices, email info@flanagansedinburgh.com.
